# My Personal AGI Meta called it "Personal Superintelligence": > a personal superintelligence that helps you achieve your goals, create what you want to see in the world, experience any adventure, be a better friend to those you care about, and grow to become the person you aspire to be. —[https://www.meta.com/superintelligence/](https://www.meta.com/superintelligence/) But the technology for "personal superintelligence" is already here, it's just not evenly distributed. I know this because I have one and it's already been very useful to me on a daily basis. Now, there's a very good reason that not everyone has this yet. Running mine involves the potential commission of a felony, which I'll explain later. But before I can explain that, I want to just explain what it feels like and how it works. ## What personal superintelligence can do today: For context, I live in california. My mom lives in michigan and my little sister lives in canada. They decided to come visit me in cali, but my mom's flight arrived a week before my sister's would. My sister booked her flight, took a screenshot of the booking information, then sent it to my mom. When my mom arrived in Cali, she showed me the screenshot: ![[Pasted image 20260818105208.png]] ^A picture I took of my mom's phone on Jun 3 I wanted to remember when she was coming, so I took a picture of it with my phone, and told my phone to put it in my calendar, which it did. You can see in the picture that the booking is for Jun 9th. Then, on Jun 5th, my mom called me and told me verbally that she was going to drive to the airport to pick my sister up "tomorrow". You might have noticed an issue – "tomorrow" would be the 6th, but my sister's flight was the 9th. This would have resulted in a wasted drive to the airport, but my phone immediately noticed the discrepancy and put an alert on my home screen: ![[Pasted image 20260818105219.png]] ^This is an actual screenshot from my homescreen on Jun 5th. When I saw this, I immediately called my sister to ask her which flight she was taking. She told me she had originally booked it for the 9th, but rebooked it to the 6th. But when she checked her email to get the correct flight information, she couldn't find it. Apparently, she had somehow accidentally rebooked the flight from the 9th to a different time of day on the 9th, but mistakenly believed she had correctly rebooked it to the 6th. After making that error, she told my mom over the phone that she was going to arrive on the 6th, and my mom repeated that to me. What's remarkable is that no one would have noticed this discrepancy in time to fix it if I didn't have a prototype "personal superintelligence" watching over me. Another remarkable thing is that it helped my sister and my mom, even though it ran on my phone and only had access to my data. ## The capability is already here Everything in that story happened when my phone was running gemini 3.5 flash, which is definitely not the smartest model. Today I daily-drive gpt-5.6-luna, because I want to make sure the harness works against the fastest and cheapest models, as they represent the capabilities that can be mass-deployed in the medium term. Now obviously, gemini 3.5 flash and gpt-5.6-luna are very far from "superintelligence". But, it makes little difference. I might be smarter than gemini 3.5 flash and gpt-5.6-luna, but I don't have time or energy to sort through information like they can. I can't count how many times I've missed an important meeting because I forgot, or failed to act on some information that was sitting in my inbox or voicemail, because I'm only human and my attention is split between many other things. There are a variety of reasons that technology like this hasn't been deployed. My phone automatically reverse-engineers every app to give data to my agent, which is something explicitly disallowed by google. It also transcribes and processes every phone call, which is legally... not good lol. (Recording a call without the consent of both parties is actually a potentially-felonious violation of California wiretapping law.) I have speculations for how to resolve this issue at scale, but I'll save those for another post. Anyway, focusing on obstacles like that misses the big picture. Just think about it. Literally all the data you could ever want is flowing through your phone's OS. Making a harness that can utilize that data effectively is an engineering problem, and getting access to it is a regulatory/policy problem. But can you really imagine a medium-term world where those problems are not solved? ## The obstacles to deployment will be overcome When people discover how useful it is, to have an agent combing through all your data and making sure you never forget anything and always have the most up-to-date information, they will crawl over broken glass to get it. I literally can't imagine ever going back. I don't even check my email anymore, because I know that if I missed something important, my phone will tell me. Either Google/Apple builds this themselves, or a platform shift happens. I believe that this is a "killer feature" and whatever platform has it first will bleed everyone else. And personally, I don't think that Google or Apple can build it, as the regulatory/policy angle is too complex right now. But we'll see!
